Abrams: Are you satisfied with your presentation? Specifically, why are you satisfied?
Me: Well overall I'm satisfied with the outcome although I wish a few things went a lot better. I'm honestly just proud that I completed my presentation without getting myself frustrated when technical difficulties came to sike me out. I think that my presentation had a heart-felt and soulful theme to it, and I hope my audience enjoy my presentation and performances as much as I did.
Abrams: What if you had the chance to do a do-over? What exactly would you have done to enhance your presentation?
Me: Ummmm, well I think I would do the entire presenation over. As pleased as I may be about the total outcome, when I think about how I could've used the stage more, produced new songs to release, and used my star piano player Darrius more im a little disappointed in myself. I also wish my videos worked way better because waiting for things to load is also a complete pain. For instance, for my performances were good I loved ecuase you could hear the clear beauty in what my voice has to offer without being drowned out with a beat. But , if I would've really put on a "PERFORMANCE" things would've been great, like everyone would've felt they were really at the best show in the world.
Other than that I'm happy with my outcome and the entire Senior Project experience was great. Thanks classmates and teachers for being there through this crazy year.

Song of The Week: COMMENT!
This song to ahold of me this week because I love who I am and I will never "FAKE THE FUNK". Her song bring a calm spirit upoon me that I believe everyone will enjoy.
Sometimes I shave my legs and sometimes I don't
Sometimes I comb my hair and sometimes I won't
Depend on how the wind blows I might even paint my toes
It really just depends on whatever feels good in my soul
I'm not the average girl from your video
and I ain't built like a supermodel
But, I learned to love myself unconditionally
Because I am a queen
I'm not the average girl from your video
My worth is not determined by the price of my clothes
No matter what I'm wearing I will always be India Arie
When I look in the mirror and the only one there is me
Every freckle on my face is where it's supposed to be
And I know my creator didn't make no mistakes on me
My feet, my thighs, my lips, my eyes; I'm lovin' what I see
I'm not the average girl from your video
and I ain't built like a supermodel
But, I learned to love myself unconditionally
Because I am a queen
I'm not the average girl from your video
My worth is not determined by the price of my clothes
No matter what I'm wearing I will always be India Arie
Am I less of a lady if I don't wear pantyhose?
My mama said a lady ain't what she wears but, what she knows
But, I've drawn a conclusion, it's all an illusion, confusion's the name of the
game
A misconception, a vast deception
Something's gotta change
Don't be offended this is all my opinion
ain't nothing that I'm sayin law
This is a true confession of a life learned lesson I was sent here to share with
y'all
So get in where you fit in go on and shine
Clear your mind, now's the time
Put your salt on the shelf
Go on and love yourself
'Cuz everything's gonna be all right
I'm not the average girl from your video
and I ain't built like a supermodel
But, I Learned to love myself unconditionally
Because I am a queen
I'm not the average girl from your video
My worth is not determined by the price of my clothes
No matter what I'm wearing I will always be India Arie
Keep your fancy drinks and your expensive minks
I don't need that to have a good time
Keep your expensive car and your caviar
All I need is my guitar
Keep your Kristal and your pistol
I'd rather have a pretty piece of crystal
Don't need your silicon I prefer my own
What God gave me is just fine
I'm not the average girl from your video
and I ain't built like a supermodel

Death Before Honor (Connection)
Another life was taking in Lindenwold this week, and not only should it be an eye opener, it should be a reality check for those who think life is all fun and games. On Wednesday night Dizon Jackson was killed in front of the 2800 building in Arborwood, by someone he called his "boy", "friend". His death, like David's, should make people realize that they need to get their life together because anyday can be your last. Dizon was not the type of person you would think someone would kill. The picture to the left is how we all remember him. That smile never left his face, and he always had some type of joke to tell. Ever since I met him I would always call him Loveles, the pinguin off of happy feet. He hated it so much but loved because it was different. He will forever be missed. My connection to the story is that his death should be sort of theraputic for those who don't realize their rights from wrongs and who feel they have a future in this life. I just hope people open their eyes and get their lives together before everyone is gone.

A Week W/O Egan!
Well unfortuately during one of the best weeks ever Egan was on the Senior Trip having the time of his life with my fellow Seniors. But once he got back it was back to buisiness, but we still didn't get to sit down and have a one on one meeting. We agreed that we'd definatily sit dwn next week and discuss the progress of my presentation and fill him in on all my exciting new info. So I pretty sure next blog will be full of great thing that will come from our talk. STAY TUNED! I have so much to tell him I hope he's as excited as I am.

Sponsor Flop x2
It all started at the spring Choir Concert, as we waited around the paino for our turn to come I began singing a song that I wrote. Everyone was so hype and started to clap, and Darrius had some music juices flowing through his mind. The next day I asked him if he would help me with my presenation and he kindly excepted. So I meet with him this week in Mr. Flix's in school studio. He let me hear a beat he created to my song, and it fit perfect! I left him wit a mission to create a brigde hook for the song and he surely got to work. Throughout the week we discussed how the agenda for the presentation should be, and we're definiatly on the same page. I must say its finally coming all together and im excited for everyone to see it.

CROSSROAD LYRICS
Bone]
Bone Bone Bone Bone.. Bone.. Bone.. Bone.. Bone.. Bone
Now tell me whatcha gonna do
when there ain't no where to run (tell me what)
(When judgment comes for you, when judgment comes for you)
And whatcha gonna do
when there aint no where to hide (tell me what)
When judgment comes for you (Cause it's gonna come for you)
[Bizzy]
Let's all bring it in for Wally, Eazy sees uncle Charlie
Little Boo, God's got him and I'm gonna miss everybody
I only roll with Bone my gang look to where they lay
When playing with destiny, plays too deep for me to say
Lil' Layzie came to me, told me if he should decease well then please
Bury me by my grand-grand and when you can, come follow me
[Layzie]
God bless you working on a plan to Heaven
Follow the Lord all 24/7 days, GOD is who we praise
even though the devil's all up in my face
But he keeping me safe and in my place, say grace
For the case to race with a chance to face the judge
And I'm guessing my soul won't budge
Grudge because there's no mercy for thugs
Oh what can I do it's all about our family and how we roll
Can I get a witness let it unfold
We living our lives to eternal our soul aye-oh-aye-oh
[Krayzie]
Prayyyyyyy, and we pray and we pray, and we pray, and we pray
Everyday, everyday, everyday, everyday
and we pray, and we pray, and we pray, and we pray
Still we laced, now follow me roll stroll
Whether its hell or its Heaven
Come let's go take a visit of people that's long gone

[| From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/b/bone-thugs-n-harmony-lyrics/tha-crossroad-lyrics.html |]
All a thug could do is cry, cry
Why they kill my dog and man
I miss my uncle Charles y'all
and he shoudn't be gone, in front of his home
What they did to Boo was wrong
Oh so wrong, oh so wrong
Gotta hold on gotta stay strong
When the day comes
Better believe Bone got a shoulder you can lean on (lean on)
Hey and we pray, and we pray, and we pray, and we pray
everyday, everyday, everyday, everyday
and we pray, and we pray, and we pray, and we pray
everday, everyday, everyday, everyday
[Chorus - Layzie and Krayzie]
See you at the crossroads, crossroads, crossroads
So you won't be lonely
See you at the crossroads, crossroads, crossroads
So you won't be lonely
See you at the crossroads, crossroads
So you won't be lonely
See you at the crossroads, crossroads

Living in a hateful world sending me straight to Heaven
That's how we roll
Living in a hateful world sending me straight to Heaven
That's how we roll
Living in a hateful world sending me straight to Heaven
That's how we roll
And I'm asking the good LORD with a sigh
It's I he told me we live to die
[Krayzie]
What's up with murder y'all, see my little cousin was hung
Somebody was really wrong, everybody want to test us dawg
Then Miss Sleazy set up Eazy to fall, you know why we sinnin
And Krayzie intended on ending it when it ends
Wanna come again, again and again

Connection: Gone So Soon
On May 12, 2011 a youg man by the name of David Rivera was killed on the streets of Camden, and it tore the town of Lindenwold apart. David Rivera was more than a long time friend he was my family and words can't explain how I felt to hear that he passed away. People never realize how precious and short life can be until something horrilbe like this happens. David was a funny, silly, outgoing kid , most know his sister and cousin Marisol Muldrow and Elena Rivera. He didn't deserve what happened to him but they say your story is already written from birth, it's just sad it ad to happen so soon. Most may say he's in a better place but to me hes not. He didn't suffer from an illness, he was elderly, nor was he sick, but he his only problem was the people he surrounded himself with. He happened to fall victim because those so called friends. Im not judging but I loved that young an with all my heart and I call for justice and peace between our fellow neighbors and friends. It's time for the madness to end! It's been really hard getting through this time so my music bring me back to reality because this seems so unreal. I listen to his favorite songs, peaceful r&b, just something I can call my therapy for the moment. I'm glad I do have music our I don't know where my head would be. All I keep saying is this is crazy, but I guess we'll all have to come to realize to ceris what we have now because it ca be taken at anytime.Rest In Peace David!!
Chat W/ Egan
So once again on this Senior Project journey I stopped to see my good old mentor, Mr Egan. I had to put the pressure on him a little because he hasn't been commenting as he should, although I have seen his effort and I hope he keeps it up. Egan and I discussed my future plans for college yet again and he keeps encouraging me to stay on task and keep pushing for a positive and effective goal. I also expressed to him how I was kind of falling into the old " senioritis" but he quickly gave me sharp look that read , I think not young lady. I gave him a smile and respond, I wont fall to soon. Sitting with him made me realize that sooner than later I won't have him to run to with my educational issues nor my lifes issuse much longer. But what I do know is that i'll always have is number handy when it's an emergency.Gosh, I'm sure goig to miss that man.

Catch Up W/ Egan
Well, of course Egan and I had a great conversation/sit down as usual. I finally got to express my future plans for schooling to him , and of course he was ready to talk. I expressed to him that I was really trying to look into nursing school, but I would eventually want to return to school for what I really want to pursue, psychology. Egan then responded by telling me about Camden County College's nursing program and how it was one of the best in the state. Except the fact that the program has now been terminated and transferred to Rowans campus. But, as we further explored the opportunities I may have in the medical field, he asked me why I really wanted to go into nursing. I then explained to him that the economy is extremely rough right now so I wanted to start out with a career and job that would always be in demand, and then return to school with a good job and remain stable in life as I continued to get a bachelor's in social working. Mr. Snyder and Egan were very helpful in directing me in the right direction to further understand exactly what I wanted to do. For instance, although I never really saw myself as a nurse when Egan asked me why I wanted to go into social working, I answered because I would love to help people. He then said that I would be doing the same thing in the nursing field , but the crazy part was I never looked at it that way. Over all it was a great meeting and still has me thinking.
Connection-Inspiration
Yesterday Mr. Abrams took us on a Senior Project inspirational trip to the Lindenwold park, and although the park is right behind school it was the best trip ever. But, of course with a class trip comes an assignment , and I must say this assignment is one of his best ideas yet. See on this simple exploration Mr. Abrams wanted us to find and explain some type of connection we found in our surroundings to our Senior Project topic. I took this assignment full force excluding myself from groups and really taking the time to walk, explore my thoughts, and imagine. But, the instant I stepped foot outside I had already had my mind made up, just this walk was my connection. What I mean by that is that a walk for me is my releasing therapy. For instance, when we began our small journey I instantly thought of the old days when my anger would take a hold on me , I would immediately leave and start walking and eventually any anger I had would go away. So the got me thinking, y whole life I've created my own inner therapy because the walks that I would take was just as therapeutic of the music that I listen to to pull me through. My comfort I once thought I could only find in music , I had then found in just a simple walk. Music therapy is now walking therapy in a sense, and I'm satisfied with my new discovery. Also, I would like to explain what the picture to the above represents. The picture shows my worst fear deep water, although it seem beautiful it is the scariest thing in the world to me. But, I must say although I am extremely terrified of the ocean and deep water, I think it is one of the most peaceful and mind blowing views known to mankind. The comparison is somewhat weird but it makes tons of sense in my mind.

Free Write- Song of The Week
My choice today is once again my song of the week, Christina Aguilera's Voice Within. The song screams introspection through each word and speaks to me in some many ways. Her voice and lyrics suck you and I can honestly say each time I hear the song my soul screams out, it's easier said then done. In the song she says life is a journey and that it is with so many loops and levels but you have to find yourself because you came in this world alone and eventually we will all leave alone. It's a scary thought but it's he truth, enjoy the song I hope it up lifts you as much as it does for me.
Lyrics:
Young girl don’t cry
I’ll be right here when your world starts to fall
Young girl it’s alright
Your tears will dry, you’ll soon be free to fly
When you’re safe inside your room you tend to dream
Of a place where nothing’s harder than it seems
No one ever wants or bothers to explain
Of the heartache life can bring and what it means
Chorus:
When there’s no one else, look inside yourself
Like your oldest friend just trust the voice within
Then you’ll find the strength that will guide your way
You’ll learn to begin to trust the voice within
Young girl don’t hide
You’ll never change if you just run away
Young girl just hold tight
Soon you’re gonna see your brighter day
Now in a world where innocence is quickly claimed
It’s so hard to stand your ground when you’re so afraid
No one reaches out a hand for you to hold
When you look outside look inside to your soul
Chorus
Life is a journey
It can take you anywhere you choose to go
As long as you’re learning
You’ll find all you’ll ever need to know
(be strong)
You’ll break it
(hold on)
You’ll make it
Just don’t forsake it because
No one can tell you what you can’t do
No one can stop you, you know that I’m talking to you
Chorus
Young girl don’t cry I’ll be right here when your world starts to fall

Connection
Music is a world of no limitations, and that is why I become so in-golfed with it when I'm depressed. As I've said before and I'll say it again it is the primary escape of my life and world. you know there always so much a person can take, and with me a little is a lot no limits. I've been working on how I deal with my surrounding and the people doing some self-therapy of my own. It's like you can try and try but you never get anywhere but I refuse to be left behind because I can't tame my anger. The picture to the left represents my turning my music on and turning my back on any nonsense the world has to offer in a negative way.
Although I have made major changes in my life I sometimes feel as if I've lost myself in the process and who I am as a free spirited person. But, my music always brings me back and makes me realize that through all my frustration and turmoil of my life I'm a great person. I may not be perfect but parts of me are amazing and I'm sticking to it.

Mentor Meeting
I once again did not get the chance to sit down with my mentor, Mr. Egan, but I will write about the thing I'm waiting to converse about. First, I must say Egan's opinion really counts to me, so I really want to ask him if he thinks I should go into nursing. It seems like a great idea but it isn't one of my dreams to be a nurse. I'm only interested because realistically nurse make great pay and they're always in demand, but what ever happen to my dreams? I think those were washed away when adult life hit the scene of my life. It's all about how much money you can get and save these days and I must say I'm on that band wagon all the way. What do you think?

He Made It..!
Well Mr. Randall made it ,and it was a very nice visit to LHS indeed. We had a visiter from our class also, Mr. Kyle Thompson, I thought it would be a good idea since he doesn't have a sponsor and Mr. Randall was very pleased to meet him. We all discussed our talents, heard a new song of Kyles, and took a look at each others blogs. But, on another note Mr. Randall had some new ideas in store for me. The idea of teaching Ron how to use the beat making technology such as pro-tools, loop, and sonic producer pro, but he want me to learn and pik it up, too. So that got me thinking maybe I an create my on beat and write to it. It would be the perfect addition to my final presentation. yes, it's perfect a master plan for perfection. I must say I a extremely excited and I can't wait to see what I've got, as well as show you.
Song Of the Week ( choice)
Etana: Reggae's Jill Scott
While sitting in class this week, Mr. Abrams sent me an email that directed me to the npr website where I found their artist of the week. She grab my attention the instant I saw the title of the article about her, Etana: Reggae's Jill Scott. Ok so, for one, I happen to love Jill Scott so i had to take a look, and secondly I'm half jamacian and I'm not really connected with my roots so it interested me immediately. "A roots-reggae bassline, accented by well-placed horns, has an old-school feel, but Etana's vocals seamlessly blend Jamaican Patois, R&B-style English and soul-sounding intonation. The result is a rarity: music that sermonizes, yet still sweetly serenades," stated the article, and I also felt it through her words and in her tone. It was liberating experience, and I enjoy eah song that I've heard so far. Above is a link to the npr article, and my song of the week "FREE" by Etana. ENJOY!

Sponsor Meeting Flop
Well, I was patiently anticipating the arrival of my sponsor on Wednesday, but I got a text stating that an important family matter had come up and he could not make it. So unfortunately Ron and I did not get to meet with our sponsor this week but I did text him and asked if we could schedule a oovoo (webcam) meeting so we could have a meeting this week, I'm still waiting on his response. I just hope what ever is going on isn't to serious and he'll be able to get back to me some time today.
Song of the Week (My choice)
" I gotta find peace of mind, I gotta find peace of mind. He says its impossible without him, but I know its possible." Theses words pulled me through this crazy week of school, and so I now pronounce it Jasmin's song of the week. The song is called Peace of Mind by Lauryn Hill, and it was brought to my attention by my beautiful find Jalysa Jones. It seems like most inspirational song are handed to me in my time of need and it always speaks volumes. Music can pulled me so far out a funk that nothing in the world can bother me, it save me in a sense. In this video she is preforming for MTV unplugged and she sings with such passion in every note. Towards the end she begins to cry and the chills that she gives off fills the room. Watch the video it speaks for itself and I hope you come to enjoy her songs and spirit as much as I do.
Archway Visit...(connection)
Ms. Susan Website
On Friday, the choir, orchestra, band, and The New Groove went on a trip to preform at Archway School, and must say it was a very liberating experience. While we were there I meet a wonderful woman by the name of Susan Herrick, the Music Therapy teacher at Archway. She explained to us a little bit about how music helps the student there and how they really love music , it helps them get through their day. I immediately approached Ms. Susan , as she likes to called, and introduces myself. She seemed very excited to hear that I was interested in learning more about Music Therapy. Half way through the show she gave me her card with her email on it and told me to contact her asap, so I did.I took a look at her website and it has plenty of informational fact about Music Therapy on it, I also emailed her to let her know I would love to interview and get a one on one lesson about how it all works, and I am eagerly waiting on her response. Over all the trip came out to be very beneficial after all, and I cant wait to update the class with what I will further learn. Above is a link to Ms. Susan website , why don't you take a look.

Egan " Big Man On Campus"
Today's visit to Egan was one of the funniest, he had a few runs to make before we began but he always makes the wait worth while. Today we caught up on how I had been the past few days, and I told him music is pulling me through. Now I must say that Egan and I have very similar music styles, and I think thats what made us so close today. But today big man Egan was listening to a little fist pumping music, and he didn't hesitate to show me his dance moves. But on a more serious note he was happy to catch up with me and see that I'm defiantly working on my Forward Progress, and I'm excited to say that Egan has full access to his blogger so there is no excuses now.

Chat W/ Egan
My meeting with Mr. Egan went great as usual, and I can't wait until the next one. But as for this sit out we conversed about my schooling and I expressed my future thoughts on school. Im actually looking into going to ACC , if my life goes as planned I think it'll be great. He was also very excited that i went to vist my sponsor ,his responce was actually, "Woooo!". When I returned to school the next day I told Egan that our next visit would take place right here at good old LHS. We didn't get to have a sit down like I wanted ,but it the next one should be great.
My choice (song of the day)
While I wanted to make it clear that music is a passion ,so you must listen to all types of music, which leads me to this entry. My spotlight artist of the week is Fefe Dibson, a young diverse artist that gives you a little titaste of everything. Her style is completely destinctive and captivating, she draws you in. She's a Canadian-born fireball that grew up in a musically diverse family, the sounds that permeated FeFe’s household pulled her in all directions at once. Her mother would regularly spin tunes by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, while dancing around the house with abandon. “My mom was like a disco queen,” says FeFe with a laugh. “She was crazy. She’d always be dancing to Flashdance and stuff like that. I’d sit there and go, ‘She’s weird,’ but that’s how I learned to dance.” Meanwhile, another influence began to dictate FeFe’s rock aesthetic.
“I grew up with Michael and Janet Jackson, but my older sister was listening to Guns N’ Roses and Nirvana, so I was right in the middle of it,” says Dobson, a native of Scarborough, Ontario, a suburb of Toronto, where she was brought up by a single mom, a mix of native Canadian and English, with a Jamaican father . “I like that combination, especially when I heard Janet’s ‘Black Cat,’ with its rock guitar riff. That’s what this album reflects. I tried to isolate myself from the radio and TV while I was making it. I listened to a lot of old records, like Stevie Nicks, the Doors and Led Zeppelin, real dramatic, emotional music.” Fefe bacame a true rocker but she imbraces all walks of music. I hope you enjoy this video, " Bye Bye Boyfriend", it really show hoe diverse she is.
Learning Loads.(Sponsor Meeting)
Well on our visit to see our sponsor Mr. Randall Johnson, Ron and I learned more about each other and our sponsor. Mr. Johnson took us through some of the work he has done and I must say he is a very diverse man. he work include everything from house music, gospel, HBO commecial music, r&b, etc. He also wanted to futher understand Ron and I have somewhat of the same topic. But as most know we are to completelu different type of people so our brain and ideas are opposite. But we expressed to Mr. Johnson that we wanted to colabrate in someway on or final presentation, which I must say is exciting. He also introduced be to a book called ,All You Need To Know About the Music Business by Donald S. Passman, I took a quick glance and it and I could tell this information was presentation worthy. So my mind started to wonder ,should I change my thesis statement or is it to late in the game?
Also, he asked Ron and I if there are any instruments that were our favorite Ron had a hand full of musicly treasures of his sleave. But, me I had one love and that was the Violin , he asked why I stop playing, and it made be wish never had to stop. Well over all the visit was great and I cant wait until the next one. He actually coming to LHS for a vist on Wednesday, hope he can stop by the class, cross your fingers.

Good Old Chats W/ Egan
Well Egan and I had a nice meeting and as usual I came out feeling great. We began by me informing Egan that he needs to hop on blogger, and start commenting more. But, he happened to forget the password he used to access his blogger account, but no worries we will crack the code. On the other hand, the meeting covered again how my life was going and how I was dealing with my emotions. But what he doesn't know is at times I think he needs a major break, but it's just not in him. Also, it was Egan birthday this past week and I was truly excited to make him a poster , and I must say he was very happy and enthusiastic to recieve his present poster. See Egan you are loved, and it was nice to make you smile. Today I notice that Egan looks to me to guide and be an example to the underclassmen , but at times my issues get in the way of my better judgement. I was really upset to disappoint him today but I made up for it with a smile. It gets no better than the Eg-mister.

Connection- New Jobs, New Outlooks
Well I've just began working at Telepoint Communication Inc. and it is truly an eye opener.Just imagine being the person behind the imfamous bill collecter or telemarketer call, CLICK is all you hear. If people knew that we dont actually dial their number I dont think people would be so anger about the call. But as everyone knows each job is a new learning experience, and I've sure learn pleanty working at Telepoint. For example, at times I have a problem when people are rude and ignorant about nothing, and I could never tune them out and just move on. But, at Telepoint we have people who curse us out everyday and we have a mute button and personality to calm them down. So from now on I will act as if I have a mute button and completely tune the world and its ignorance out. Life lessons are so hard to learn but once you do it stays with you forever, and this job sure is helping my anger. Thanks new job.

Chat W/ Egan
Chatting with my mentor, Mr. Egan, is always a cheerful and influential meeting. Talking to him at times really does feel as if I'm talking to someone who understands me in every way. He has seen me grow from a child into a lady who is still training to become a woman. Today's meeting was geared more toward my life's situations, and how I can build and learn from them. But the conversation was finally in my hands and Egan was happy to see that I was finally doing good. But I must say I need to take the time out and be more productive, apply my educational talents more, and get on the ball. The way I'm going through it my head is like music, every time I feel myself losing it I sing to myself. Someone once told me that your life is like a car, YOU are the only one supposed to stair it in the right direction, You're the only one responsible for if you crash, and and only YOU have the title to your destiny. So are going to give up and let the wheel go? My answer is NO! So when I report to Egan, I'm in good spirits because I know at end of the day I can say I have one of the best councilors high school can offer. And I am very fortunate to have him by my side during my high school career. I guess this meeting made me realize how much I value school and the wonderful people who surround me in it. So on that note, I want to dedicate this blog entry to the students and staff of Lindenwold high for helping me escape everyday. It means a lot to me. thank you and I hope you enjoyed my blog.
My Choice..Satire connection
In my English 11 class we discuss the different types of satire there are and how they are used. As we entered class, he distributed a satire report call, Our High Schools May Not Adequately Prepare Dropouts For Unemployment. Just from the title you could clearly see that it was a Horatia satire. Horatia is a satire that playfully criticizes some social vice through gentle, mild, and light-hearted humor. But on the other hand there is Juvenal satire, which the picture to the left illustrates. Juvenalian is out if a type of satire that is ore contemptuous and abrasive. It addresses social evil through scorn, outrage, and savage ridicule. For instance, some examples of the horatian satire are The Simpson's and the article that Mr. Myles present to use today. There is also a website called, The Onion, which plays off of real life situations by using satire to express their opinions in a humors way. You can also view an example if juvenalian satire by viewing the clip of a speech at
the White House during a dinner. I hope you enjoy. But as I close this blog I leave you with a mini challenge; see if you can figure out what the images satire.Good luck!

Connecting With Psychology...(connection)
Music psychology is not music therapy, and it is very important to distinguish the two.Music psychology is primarily an academic discipline, while music therapy is a profession.Music is one of the central elements in human condition, which basically means we relate to music that we can tell the artist has been through, and vice-versa. When the serious academic studies of music and human individuals are combined they form the new era, Musicology. The music psychologist investigate all aspects of musical behavior and experience by applying methods and knowledge from all aspects of psychology. To gather futher information on the subject they ask questions pertaining to everyday music comsumption, emotions toward certain type of music, structure (melody, bass, piano, etc),etc.Music psychology can shed light on non-psychological aspects of musicology and musical practice. For example, music psychology contributes to music theory by investigating the perception of musical structures such as melody, harmony, tonality, rhythm, meter, and form.Questions in music psychology are often difficult to answer. So instead they use research literature to careful quality control procedures. These generally take the form of anonymous expert peer review, which is a standard feature of all leading music-psychological societies, conferences, and journals. If you ever want to take a look at a few of the online Music-Psychology here a few site. Enjoy!

Black History Month Tribute.
In honor of Black History Month I decided to take the time to remember an icon of the music industry. She's not played in your car today, in fact it would be kind of weird, but she has influenced our music today and is a legend of the Harlem Renissance. Ms. Lena Horne is known as one of the most popular African American entertainers of the twentieth century. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 30, 1917, Horne was an actress, singer, and civil rights pioneer, who was considered one of the most talented and influential women of her generation. She drew her influence from her grandmother, Cora Calhoun a philanthropist, advocate of education for Blacks, and a seasoned political activist. Lena became a member of the NAACP as a toodler.
That is until she moved with her mother and started to work at the Cotton Club to help her family. There, Horne was influenced by such major figures as Cab Calloway and Duke Ellington. She eventually joined the orchestra of famed band leader Noble Sissle and toured the country, where she first earned her fame and recongnition. She credited Sissle’s mentorship as the bedrock on which she built her future career . She became the first Black actress to sign a long term contract with a major Hollywood studio, and starred in movies such as, Panama Hattie, Cabin the Sky, Stormy Weather, and the classic The Wiz. But ,Stormy weather is where she got her break as a singer, singing the song "Stormy Weather". She was qouted saying, “Whatever petitions I’ve signed or benefits I’ve played I’ve not done because I had any broad or deep political program I was pushing. I had just learned from my father and from my grandmother not to take any nonsense from anybody.” Ms. Horne has been honored as a recipient of a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. The honorable Lena Mary Calhoun Horne passed away on May 9, 2010, but her music and inspirational spirit lives on today and forever.

Talks With Egan...
Today my mentor, Mr. Egan, and I had our first chat of many and as always it was very liberating. We discussed my adventure to meet my sponsor and how it all went. I informed him that our meeting went well and that I was looking forward to the next one. Being that my mentor is such a busy man I made our chat short and sweet, letting him know that my next sponsor meeting is on Friday and he was please with my progress. Also, Egan was very concerned that he couldn’t view or comment on my blog, so I offered to make him a personal blog for himself. By our next meeting I hope to have his blog up and running so that he can feel that blog experience that we all love so much. I will also update him on the new things I learn while visiting my sponsor.

Voyage #1-"WAKE ME UP FOLGERS"
My first visit to my sponsor was a very nice introduction for what is to come. Ron and I, meet up with our sponsor Mr. Randall Johnson at his in house studio this week. During our visit ,Mr. Randall was in the middle of a studio session with a friend his, helping with the Folgers Jingle Contest. It was a amazing, her voice, Mr. Randall's influence with the beat, and the jingle as a whole was polished and clean. Unfortunately, I do not remember her name, but her sting and ken eye for her music set in on me. I then wondered if I could ever be comfortable enough to the same.
For instance, when I sing, although it may seem as if my confidence is at an all time high, I am holding back with each note. The Folgers contestant sang her jingle with pose and passion; for someone who doesn't drink coffee , I could've went for a cup with each time she sang it. Also, Ron and I came up with several ideas for our one hour presentations that are sure to be a hit,(details will come later). I can definately say this should be a great and eye-opening experience for Ron ,also. As we sat and watched Mr. Johnson compose the music as a whole he was teach Ron how to make notes longer or short and the different types of engineering programs there are. We both got the chance to showcase our talents, and Mr. Johnson seemed impressed. I am extremely excited for our next journey to Mr. Johnson.
*The picture to the left is of Mr. Randall, His friend (unknown), and Ron. Just seemed like a great picture.

Super Bowl NO NO!
Just like most Americans I was tuned into Super Bowl XLV, and might I say the opening was one to miss. I say this because Ms. Aguilera stumbled over a few key words in our National Anthem, and I’m sure she may have hoped no one caught it, but the whole U.S did. How can you forget the National Anthem?
The announcer clearly stated that she would "now honor America" with her presentation of this nation's unifying theme. However, she did anything but. Yes I am a fan but, I think she was so obsessed with her own vocal style that she couldn't even remember the lyrics properly, and misquoted them. She played off the mistake saying, “I am truly sorry for my mistake and I happened to be going through a lot, so unlike the football players I didn’t come in with my head in the game”. I hope she does next time because I don’t think the world can go through that again.
Some say she may have been drunk or she just really forgot the words ;either way she made a fool of herself. Below is a video of the event , see if you can point out which line she missed , trust me its not very noticeable.

Welcome To Me.!
Hello parents, mentors, and sponsors, welcome to our Senior Project kick off event. My name is Jasmin Davis and although I have no one here with me tonight my amazing mentor Mr. Egan, new sponsor Mr. Randall, and family members do send their apologizes. My topic is about music and I would like to explore the legal and cruel aspect behide it. For instance, young performers in the industry have to make sure that their manager and the team behide them have their best interest at heart, or in the end their hard work will be for nothing. Pretty soon the class will have to individually write an essay about a thesis statment of our choice. My topic is mainly about the challeges to be aware of when entering the music industry. Although it seems as if a wide spead topic I will be sure to be insightful in firm with my thesis. Thank you for listening and enjoy the rest of the night.

Senior Project Quarterly!
In Dante’s Inferno, he explores the “sins” that many people may describe as character flaws or improper traits. He examines the 7 deadly sins, wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony, to provide examples of why we should take a better introspection on life. These sins are all reflections of how cruel and self absorbed some people can be, which called for a means of self-improvement. But how exactly can the Inferno be means of self improvement?
The inferno is filled wit death wishes and tales of how people should have lived their life or they wouldn't be in the situation. But, what about those who did nothing wrong, must they punished? Taking a deeper look into the Inferno I realized that although I may not agree with his views, he does have a few key points and it definatly does make you wonder. For instance, the sin of lust is one that everyone in the world would go to hell. For example, in todays society people are starting to ingage in sex at very young ages which means more and more people are committing sins and shall be punished. I'm not saying that his views make any sense but he does have a clear stand point and he really make you want to evaluate your self and you worth.

Sponser! Sponser! Sponser!
How is finding a sponsor coming along? Well, its definitely not an easy process, but I’ve made it through and I do believe I have a very great sponsor. Mr. Randall Johnson, a friend of Ms. Clark, heard about our program and was immediately interested. But, after a few days of calling him over and over I got through to a man who seemed trilled and excited to join our Senior Project team. Mr. Randall lives in Deptford, NJ, and is studio is located in his home. I have yet to sit down with my mentor, Mr. Egan, and Mr. Randal but I have notified him about our senior Project kick-off event and he said he will be attending. For the next couple months I hope to complete a demo and learn more about the legal aspects of the industry and how young people become swindled but the big music executives how are only out for a quick buck. In all honesty, I do not know much about my sponsor ,but from our conversation he has shown complete interest and I am hoping that it will be an amazing and insightful experience.

Killing Me Softly
Looking through the NPR site i found one of the most inspirational and dynamic artist alive. Yes, Lauryn Hill , Ms.Hill as she likes to be called, captured my soul through her words and songs.HEr diverse lyrics and captivating tune vibrates thorough my body with each and every song I listen to. To me Lauryn Hill is a rare breed who many do not understand ,but through her words translate a woman who has overcome leaps and bound and through her music she releases her pain and pours out every emotion into her words.
Lauryn Hill is a raper and singer and her genre is classified as a rhythmic spoken word but to many she's more than an artist. Her singing gives you a feeling of no other, for me its a journey. When I listen to her music it gives you a feeling as if someone has just captured my body, mind, and soul and has taken it to a place where you never felt you could go.For instance, her songs "Killing Me Softly", "Nothing Even Matters", and " Redemption Song" and all examples of songs that in one way or another bring joy to my heart.Below is the article I found so I hope you enjoy , but I know you will . Also, take a look at John Legend, Chrisette Michele, and Janelle Monae you'll l feel exactly how good music should make you feel..

Chrisette Michele
This amazing women in the image is of Chrisette Michele, and i found on one of the sites Mr. Abrams gave us to use. I chose this image because her voice, the tune in her expressions, and everything about her is what and where i would like to be. A gorgeous and effortlessly versatile singing voice colored with Billie Holiday-with inflections of vocal pop and jazz. Chrisette individuality shines through from every angle, and I for one am an extreme fan. She got her first shot in the song "Lost Ones" with Jay-Z and Nas, and after she branched off into one of the most diverse and successful artist to date. Below are the videos of "lost ones" and her song " Love Is You" i hope you enjoy.

The Fallen by Paul Langan
The link above is to my playlist of ten songs I put together on youtube for my English 11 project. The songs are my representation of the novel The Fallen by Paul Langan, that I read and i must say it was quite interesting. I can honestly saw Im not the reading type ,but once a book draws you in there's no resisting and thats exactly what happened. The book is basicly about a boy , Martin Luna, whos brother was killed during a drive by, but the bullet was meant for his friend. Now Martin must choose to either kill for revenge and continue done the stone path he is creating, or pull it together and get his life together. Each song in the playlist in some way moved me as much as the book , but you must Read Between The Lyrics. So i hope everyone enjoys the music and takes a look into the novel.

Ethel Waters
This blog is combining my History III class in with our Senior Project class. Ms. Hansbury has asked everyone to write a two page paper on our selected artist from the Harlem Renaissance, and add some type of digital or entertainment effect to it. So why not take the chance and introduce my blog.
Ethel Waters was one of the most popular African-American singers and actresses of the 1920s. She movedto New York in 1919 after touring in vaudeville shows as a singer and a dancer. She made her recording debut in 1921 on Cardinal records with "The New York Glide" and "At the New Jump Steady Ball", but switched over to African-American owned Black Swan label, and recorded "Down Home Blues" and "Oh Daddy" the first Blues numbers for that company. She frequently sang with Fletcher Henderson during the early 1920s, but by the mid-1920s Waters had became more of a pop singer. She performed in a number of musical revues throughout the rest of the decade and appeared a couple of films, including "Check and Double Check" with Amos 'n' Andy and Duke Ellington. By the end of the 1930s she was a big star on Broadway. In 1949, she was nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actress in the film "Pinky", and the next year she won the New York Drama Critics Award for best actress. Waters got religion in the late Fifties and performed and toured with evangelist Billy Graham until her death in 1977. To the left is a picture of Ethel and a video for one of my favorite songs , "Please Don't Talk About Me When I'm Gone". Hope you enjoy.

Original Me...
This link above is of me singing one of my favorite songs that I wrote. The title is cloud nine and it may be a littles sketchy but I hope you ENJOY!
The second link to youtube is a video summary of Dante's Inferno.
major conflict · Dante attempts to find God in his life, while those sentenced to punishment in Hell hinder him from the true path.
themes · The perfection of God’s justice; evil as the contradiction of God’s will; storytelling as a vehicle for immortality
motifs · Political arguments; allusions to classical literature and mythology; cities; the role of fame and prestige in human life
symbols · Inferno is an allegory; nearly every element symbolizes some aspect of the theme. Most notably, the punishments of the sinners correspond symbolically to the sins themselves.
